Life's Small Treasures
It's sometimes so easy to get sidetracked by the big questions facing us each day.  That's when we take a moment to pause and look closely for the harmony to be found all around us.

Setting clocks ahead means an extra hour of daylight after busy work days. Take the time to wander familiar paths spotting owls' nests hidden in the nooks and crannies of oak tree branches.  By the water, gather sea glass fragments that tell a story of nature's delicate forces. Or, play a game of I spy with sailboats floating atop the bay's sapphire blue waves.

At home, awake to the greeting you receive from each of the rooms that you step into. Favorite novels lie in wait, silver-framed photographs of children's faces smile back at you while pretty lamplight glows nearby.

Linger for another moment to take in the serenity you and nature have provided, making a promise to each day notice life's small treasures that are so close by.

Hip-Hop and Tweet-Tweet, It's Spring
Sugar Bunnies Mini Pot Holder Sugary Bunnies

What's spring without adorable sugar bunnies hopping down the trail and song birds tweeting their soft melodies? Make your upcoming gatherings more memorable by adding several whimsical rabbits to your tabletop settings (left and right photos.) For a fresh new way to display mini-Phals and smaller plants, check out this mini-pot holder (complete set) with its cascading bird branch rising above (center photo.)

Together, these happy hoppers and sweet tweeters will surprise and delight your guests during April's festive holiday gatherings.

Turning the Tables

Oh, these garden tables that double as indoor or outdoor seating are so cool.  Just when we think we've got them all figured out, up pops a new collection of accent tables in delighful colors including sugar pea green, tawny orange and mystic blue that challenges us to start thinking outside the decorating box.

Cluster together several tables in your favorite colors and designs—including filigree, medallion and vertical ribbed—for a dramatic resting place for your daily essentials.  Tuck one under your dressing table for convenient repose.  Find an out of the way corner on your terrace or lanai that needs a bit of refreshing. Spring calls for a bright new look—inside and out—and these garden tables are here to answer.

Where Do I Cut the Flower SpikeOrchid Tip: Cutting Your Spent Flower Spike
According to the American Orchid Society, of all the more widely available orchids, only Phalaenopsis will rebloom from its old spike (stem)—if given a little extra care and attention.

If your Phal is in its final bloom stage, we generally recommend that you completely cut off the stem at its base (or, cut the stem leaving two visible nodes or stem lines.)  Either way, be sure to use a clean, sharp tool. Some Phals are not capable of reblooming, but, considering their in bloom beauty, it's certainly worth trying. And be patient. New flowers can take several months to appear.
